New Figure

Bussy, perhaps you were thinking of the similar statue of William I at the Deutches Eck in Koblenz? It was wrecked during WW II, The plinth was left as a monument to German unity throughout the cold war. A new statue of the same design was finally added after German re-unification. My wife and I used to live in Simmern. We were close to Koblenz and used to go there often. Great model shops and the Wehrtechniche Museum which had a great military history book and model shop attached to it.

Just out of interest I think the 54mm Fredericus Rex figures of von Keith and von Krockow are based upon figures on the pedestal of the statue.

Sorry I thought the monument was destroyed and never built again...but it is nice that he still exists.

I just bought this new figure. I saw  the figure in the "Zinnfiguren" magazine. The editor was Schweizer (not Babette). I couldn't find the figure in Kulmbach and I asked Scholtz (Berliner Zinnfiguren) if they could find the figure for me. Finally I received the figure at home. It represents an old monument in Berlin dedicate to Frederic II. The monument doesn't exist anymore but I have an old book from 1851 with the entire description.
