Title: Riding school, Xenophon time
Post by: errant49 on October 10, 2013, 09:00:28 AM
Some very nice figures from Wolfgang Hafer, designed Ludwig Madlener, engraving Hans Lecke
The accuracy of the scene is not certain, but Xenophon was the first man who wrote about men and horses relationship and try to explain how to train horses
An explaination of the painting can be find in the Techniques part, Color Recipes

Apparently Xenophon had an interesting way of inspiring potential recruits but, I digress...

Eric these breakdowns are perfect for those looking for some specific step-by-step approaches to oils and painting flats.  Thanks for sharing these should be understandably popular.

As usual Eric super painting with a great explanation especially for those of us that are not very sure of colour mixes and where and how to use them.

Thanks
