A MILESTONE IN WARGAMING: THE FIRST EVER MAJOR ANCIENT/FANTASY WARGAMES CAMPAIGN:
THE HYBORIAN CAMPAIGN BY TONY BATH.

When I was a (much) younger wargamer (a long time ago!), my first interest was Ancient Wargaming and the first army I ever build was a Seleucid one (25 mm Minifigs, old "telegraphpole"-series). Wargames Research Group then published "setting up a wargames campaign" by the late Tony Bath and I got in touch and befriended with Tony (as well as with several other people who are now mere memories - or rather monuments - of another era) and even took part in battles at his house, featuring his 40 mm "flats" on the very wargames table the "Hyborian Campaign" was fought over. All this happened more than twenty years ago. Tony was so impressed with my interest in his campaign that he (much to my surprise and delight) offered me the original copy of his campaign diary and part of his (homecast) Hyborian Armies! Even today, with many thousands of figurines filling the shelves of my wargames-room, they are the most treasured items in my collection (and MOST CERTAINLY not for sale!).

After having been on line for only a couple of days, we have had already several inquiries about the contents of Tony Bath's original Hyborian documents as presented below. Therefor, and as soon as possible, we will create a page which will contain the contents of these documents for all to share. Please visit this site on a regular base, in order to collect your own copy of these historical documents!

When Tony Bath so generously offered me the above items, I promised him to put them on display (as a kind of small museum) in the wargames shop I owned at that time. I never really got round to it (and the shop is long since history) so it more than pleases me now to finally keep my promise by creating this little virtual corner of wargames history that can be viewed worldwide. So, here's to you, Tony; you were one of the first and the best and an inspiration to us all !
