Not sure about where this set originated. Does anyone know the editor? The set shows the meeting between Richard Lionheart and Saladin in 1192. Also not sure whether this really took place or is one of those historical 'facts' that is a bit dubious. Nice set though. Some of the bases have EH on them, most have BG and some have 1192 - the date this event is supposed to have occurred.
PS - does anyone know why the colour has gone a bit weird?

Hi jerry
I think the H is for Hennige
BG I do not know
1192 IS the date of the event

Hello Jerry,
Editor of the figures was Bernd Graf, who engraved a part and bought some Henniges-moulds, too. Henniges died in the 80´s.
Rieger and Lecke engraved for Henniges.
Designer was Klaus Messmer and Hans-Jörg Stoll.
Martin Andrä engraved the tents and some other additional figures; today he sells this set.
Best regards
Michael

there were quite a few ' negotiations ' between Richard and Saladin around this time, but I'm can't seem to find anything on this being done between them or through intermediates.
this is a very nice looking set.

Many thanks, Michael, that is useful to know. A couple of the bases have HJSt for Stoll on them.

That is a truly beautiful set!

Bought it at Kulmbach a few years ago.

Trying again to get the image correct. First image was greyscale, have converted back to RGB.

Based on Michael's reply I found the page of Martin Andrae.
It is worthwhile to have a look on - very nice 30mm figures are shown.
