Greetings Penny,

Amazing figures these - I have them as well - I am slowly getting them painted.  (Love the Mucha based figures.)

Per the handy BFFS Journal No 72 from 2004 it provides the following under the What's New Too section:

Below that are two new flats based on
Mucha designs from Detlef Belashk
who writes, “I am happy to draw your
attention to my latest works of art which,
as usual, are to the highest standard.
 They are The Byzantine
Ladies by Alphonse Mucha. They have
been brilliantly engraved by Herrn
Grünewald Jnr.
The price for a single piece
is €8,00 and the pair costs €15,00. The
pair in a ‘patinated’ finish is available
for €20,00.
I can also supply the medallion
with the original background as a print.
A single background is €2,00 and both
backgrounds are €3,00. When framed it all
looks fantastic, I promise you!”
Detlef Belaschk, Gardeschützenweg 28,
D – 12203 Berlin, Germany
(Historical note: these particular designs
of Mucha’s were used on French postcards
of the period)

Hello, I am doing a write-up for a class on this figure and I wish to include the info on it's creation. I believe it was designed by Detlef Belasck? Is this true? Who was the engraver? Thanks for your help...
