Title: Scale Model Challenge Einhoven
Post by: Nicholas Ball on January 16, 2015, 02:38:27 PM
Hi All,

After the success of Euromilitaire last year, we are very honoured to be asked by the Scale Model Challenge in Einhoven at the end of the year to put on another display for their show.

We will also be putting on a Painting demonstration as well. Well done Brian!!!! hahahaha

Should you wish to display any of your figures, or indeed be interested in joining us, please let me know. We can collect figure at this years Euromilitaire to take, and I shall have a ledger so all figures can be returned to  their rightful owners.

I shall update you as the year progresses

Nicholas     Hon.Secretary

Careful Brian; someone may want you to paint their house.
In oils.
With a W&N #0 brush...

Have a great time.

We have returned!!  how time flies when you are enjoying yourselves.

I have to say, this is one of the best shows you could possibly attend.

I would like to Thank Rob and the rest of his crew for the very warm welcome they gave us and for the exceptional organisational skills they have obviously put into this show.  Hard work, but very much appreciated from this quarter :)

Below are photo's of our stand with 2D. Again it was a very very good display and drew a lot of attention.

More photos along with winners in the competition will be added soon. ;)

Hmmmm... four of the twelve photos are fantasy/sci-fi subjects and only three appear to be 30mm. Interesting ...very interesting. Has this been a trend at the shows?

Same for me, we 'travel' our paintings during one year to communicate to the various countries and exhibitions, but it is the same for masters also...
But I agree with Brian, the painters of 230 mm flats are not many in Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden. I don't know about Italy or Spain.  During the past year 50% of my paintings are 30mm, but many painters prefer today the larger sizes, proably more visible and convenient to paint.
Also in competition, one 30mm flat has little chance of being detected, unless a mounted olifant....
I have four English knights Under preparation and many queuing ..  Fortunately, we have Eric to keep us awake!!

I 'travel' mine as well. My painting cycle runs from June to the following May and is timed for the figure oriented shows I go to in March, April, and early June. After the Tulsa show in June the cycle restarts. I always try to bring a selection for all the major categories in various scales and genres. A bit of serious, a bit of whimsy, and a bit of humor - the University of Texas Spanking Machine was a big hit... My way of supporting the show. Once entered in a show that year, the pieces are retired. My club also sets up a display table at the two local shows where people can see some of them again.

Nice pics Brian! I like the gal with tophat - Trost? I think with a bit of surgery and putty it would make a nice steampunk conversion.

Salud,

Glen
