Hi Joe,

If you are on the forum then look under your name in the left hand top corner of your reply. If it say's Member, like yours, you have paid.

If it says Associate, you are not a fully paid up member, just a registered guest.

Also, be advised that we will have the usual "Rump Session Meeting of the BFFS" in the food court on Saturday at 12 Noon.  It's a great chance to see old friends, meet new ones and talk about flats or anything else you wish. I will announce the meeting shortly before noon.  See you then!!

Thanks, Joe, for the info. I did not realize there MIGHT not be a 2017 MFCA. If not, see you in Chicago!!!

My tickets are booked and I am excited to see you gentlemen.  I have upped my beer intake significantly as a training measure as well in preparation.

With Nick there as well it also might be handy to have a Committee type session to chat as well.

Yes Mark a few things we need to discuss with Patrick. It will also be good to discuss the society with our attending members to see where we can improve the society etc.

Book Gerry for the Rump session Patrick.

Gerry likes having his rump beaten, preferably with a large wooden spoon, he's getting all excited just at the very thought of it !!!!  hahaha

Unfortunately Mark, Gerry and I have been on a tea total training session,  :o.  However the good news is it only lasted 2 hours on Saturday and we then slipped back into our old ways!!!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

As the saying goes, Practice makes perfect

John Jeffries of Birchtree Enterprises will be at MFCA and stocking hardwood based designed specifically for flats. If anyone would like to custom order in
advance..he is at birchtreejohn@aol.com.
Johns base are stunning and works of art  of themselves...and most reasonably priced.
See everyone there...
Kevin

PS...I will be disposing of a great many 30mm flats/flat sets at the show. Too old for those now.

I would suggest you do your research on this subject at home because should you stop in Philadelphia proper to do your hands-on research you will not make it to Valley Forge. It will be most difficult for you to exhaust the selection of craft beers now available (not to mention the multitude of local, state, and US commercial beers). In an effort to help, here is one web site to get you started:  https://www.thrillist.com/drink/philadelphia/best-brewery-in-philadelphia-rankings (https://www.thrillist.com/drink/philadelphia/best-brewery-in-philadelphia-rankings)     ::)

and another:    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_breweries_in_Pennsylvania (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_breweries_in_Pennsylvania)   :-X

We will have plenty of time for an "executive session." However, since adult beverages will be involved we will either take no meeting minutes or not be able to read the minutes taken.  :P

The main flats dealer in the US will be there - The Little Tin Soldier. Several other dealers have a limited offering of flats, but LTS is the best source. I also endorse Kevin's comment to see John Jeffries for some really unusual bases suitable for flats. Bring your cash - USD only please!!

I am SOOOOO looking forward to this one and meeting you all.

Well Patrick, I'm pleased you think like that, cos as you know Gerry, a couple of pints not only can he not read, you won't get much sense out of  him either!!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D
I'm obviously a lot more sensible, but quite frankly you'd never know the difference!!!  ;D ;D ;D

I will have a few BFFS  Robin Hood and Arthur figures available. Hint Hint , The Rolls Royce of flat tin figures :)

I've got a few luncheon vouchers, and thirty thousand pounds in Monopoly money, is this worth bringing? :o.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

http://tropshuttle.com/shuttle-times-prices/ (http://tropshuttle.com/shuttle-times-prices/)          $29/53.  Between airport and casino.
one way/round trip (return to you Brits)

Enjoy our famous Schuylkill Expressway (route 76) on your way out to Valley Forge unless they take you via the Blue Route (route 476)to avoid downtown and then to route 76. The Expressway has a few sites ...The Phila Art Museum, The Waterworks ( just below), and Boathouse Row( just next).  That is if they take you through town ( "center city"). Through Fairmount Park and then ...well it will be new to you as you travel parallel along the west side of the river. The Blue route you can look at traffic or sleep after you pass the airport.

Quite a stunning show, really a nice time.  Fellow flatties made us very welcome, making sure we were well fed and having a good time.  Really a pleasant show with flats quite well represented.  They are not a well kept secret in this country any longer.

Little Tin Soldier was there and several, members were 'trading' flats.

Really lovely time all around.  Thank you much for the hospitality!

Well as Arnie said.  " I'll be back ".  So here I am!! ;D ;D

Firstly I would like to say what a great time Gerry and I both had, and it was good to see what the MFCA was all about. Secondly, it was good to finally meet up with Mark and Patrick, along with other members.

The flats were well supported, with comments that there had never been so many flats on the tables in past shows. Very encouraging indeed. I put out 250 cards, and collected up 6 at the end!! Maybe like other shows in Europe, more and more flats will be seen with each up and coming show :)

I would like to Thank both Mark and Patrick for the warm welcome, along with the ' Hawaii Boys ' who took great care of us, whether you would trust them and let them out with your granny would be another matter, but for us, we fitted in well. A good laugh all round. Thanks Gentlemen.

I would especially like to thank Kevin and Greg who squeezed us into their cars to take us up to New York and along with Penny, who looked after us for the first couple of days. Then they unwisely let us loose on our own !!! ;D ;D ;D

A full report of the show will be in an upcoming Journal.

I have been preaching the 2-dimensional word for yours and He said he finally found something that turned his head?

Hi Ray,

Yes I did indeed have the pleasure of meeting Zach, and a very nice Gentleman he is too.

He did buy both my St Michael slaying the dragon and the St George and the dragon. Unfortunately I could not let him have Prince Ivan and the Firebird, as it is one of my Wife's favorite piece's.

I am hoping at the next MFCA to have another firebird should he still wish to have one in his collection.

I am always honoured and humbled when someone appreciates my artwork, and I know it has gone to a good home.
