Great to see this time period.  Have recently purchased 16th through 18th century flats off eBay-so much variety and subject matter.  Beautiful painting--well handled blue.

I also have the Streltsy figures from Tapper. Still unpainted. Hopefully I will paint them next year, but I have so much unpainted waiting for the brush.

Thank you for bringing up these unusual characters !!  They remember me the Russian Streltsies starting also at that period until the early XVIIIth Century, who I started painting some 'musketeers' already

Therefore I do appreciate very much your paintings !!!

Polish infantry inspired by Rolka sztokholmska. https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolka_sztokholmska The figures are from Oldhafer, drawn by Block and engraved by Tilo Whal. If anyone knows anything about Whal, I'm curious. He does not seem to have engraved so many figures.
