Well David, you may be new to flats but you certainly know which end of a paintbrush is which.

Really strong start there.  They do look two dimensional, but very accurate work and the shading will come in time if you care to phase it in.  And it's no crime if you don't.

For a first go I'm impressed :o  you didn't pick the easiest to start with but well done,
As Wolfgang said light but this will come later, but more to the point did you have fun and are you going to go again with flats  ;D

Please remember which side of the light appear so.

Sonnenstralen come from the top right?
or from the left? entgegengeset dan should be set and the shadows.

But when you are first .... I take my hat!!

Dear All,

Providing I can work the technology and get them reduced to a suitable size, here are photies of my first attempt at painting flats.

They are Wolfgang Bock 30mm figures, painted in oils.

They represent English Civil War Royalist infantry (the standard is apparently Sir Henry Bard's Regiment of foot), and some Scottish Covenanter soldiers being caught out by the preacher,

I'd be glad to hear what you think.
