Atmospheric piece with muted tones that matches the European Middle Ages--at least from what textile historians present.  Beautiful work and excellent painting.

What makes this painting so unique is the very natural, but never used in painting  is the grey patina of the wood exposed to sun and water for extended time, and becoming light grey, combined with the robe of the horse also light grey.  A Bai horse would have been more agressive as contrast, where here all in in a sweet and soft tone, splendid..
