That would have been the first work on the topic of the Tyrolean uprising in 1809. I call it "The glorification" It is inspired by the myth of Andreas Hofer and his actions. It shows the oath and blessing by John Haspinger before 3rd Bergisel battle on August 13, 1809. The middle image is of Franz von Defregger (the eve of the Bergisel battle), who through his paintings not irrelevant to the myth and glory and the glorification contributed by Andreas Hofer and his Tyrolean shooter. The figures are a few exceptions all of Ewald Kovar from Vienna. Figure painting, dioramas construction and background painting are made by me.

Just reading 'Thunder on the Danube vol III by Gill' which deals with this time period and Hofer's uprising among other things.
Really first class display and nicely painted.

I love these kind of displays and this is no exception.
I would have a go myself but I'm afraid I wouldn't remain interested to see it through to completion.
