Today I want to introduce the next three characters from the series.
So they are still hot from the molds.  :o :o :o

Thus 10 cavalrymen of the U.S. Army have been engraved by Wolfgang Friedich and available in the shop under www.zinnfiguren-bock.de.
It may be that there may be some delays on the website because they are not yet released.  ::)
best regards
Wolfgang

Having grown up in a family that worked in the movies westerns and who's farther had been in the 1st Cavalry division 7th cavalry during the war. One gets to know the Army of the west inside and out. Also as a kid one of the ways I made money was to clean Army saddles and equipment for movies. Most of it ranged from the 1870 to World War 11. My farther worked on every John Ford Western there was.  So now to the Army. After the Civil War Congress cut the army just like there doing today. I do not know if any of you have been to the great planes or deserts of the southwest but they are vast and the Army soon learned that extra weight did not work on campaign. Sabers where issued, but where soon left behind when on campaign. Yes some office did take them along but not that many. Sabers would remain in the Cavalry all the way up to the start of World War II.  I still like this set of flats and they can be used from 1866-1890  Willie

The U.S. Cavalry are a antipole to the E.Straßburg series "Apaches on horseback in the attack"
[ Guests cannot view attachments ] Engraved by W. Friedrich
The Cavalry sebell is placed under the saddle.
The rider can be used for the period 1865-1890. However, some figures may also be already used for the time of the Civil War.
best regards
Wolfgang

They are a nice set of figures I want a set my self. I would like to see a dress one mounted and dismounted  with the 1870 horse hair plume helmets. Remember that the saber was left at the fort when out on patrol. I recommend the following books to use in painting.  The US Army In The West By Douglas C McChristian. Brass Spikes and Horsetail Plumes By Gordon Chappell,  The Horse Soldier four volumes by Randy Steffen. If you have a chances to visit the Custer Battle field do so. Willie

Shades of Little Big Horn and Custer, not to mention the TV I grew up with ... lots of cowboy shows.  Very nice stuff Wolfgang.

Post or send me a catalog picture and I will add it to your catalog as well.
