Hi all
I am painting an officer (Seymour) of the 18th hussars at Waterloo
I wonder if lace are silver or white (as for the troopers)
Can anybody help ?

Dear Eric,
According to D. & B. Fosten in "The Thin Red Line" and P. Haythornthwaite in "Waterloo Men" the 18th Hussar officers lace was silver (as you've already been told). However, I thought you might be interested to know that these authors describe the colour of the officers sashes as crimson with gold, woven barrels. I hope this additional information is helpful and that I'm not telling you something you know already.

All that confirm what I thought : silver laces
And yes the officers' sashes were crimson and gold
Here are the figures I am painting; they come from the LifeGuards/Horse Gaurds set issued by Alexander baden, with some light modifications
