Hair in the soup

A little bit more and it's finished  [ Guests cannot view attachments ] more brown on the face and hands with a little white and yellow for the highlights.

Green jacket shaded with blue and the light in yellow again, buttons in ochre and yellow, cap a mix of brown and green and shaded with brown and white for the light.
The beard was first a brown and blue mix followed with white, pipe the same

 
So why when I'm a oil painter? soon down my local club I will be showing how to paint flats, acrylics is the chosen medium so I thought better have a go, but just one more thing this figure was painted with just 5 tubes of paint, titanium white,yellow ochre,phthalo green, ultramarine blue,cadmium yellow and one 0/3 brush      [ Guests cannot view attachments ]   So if your told you need loads of paints and special brushes just smile as you know you don't

I'll go back to oils now but have a go at mixing and not straight from the tube or pot

What Ho Amigo 

Not looking too bad, but if you will use the Devils Paint Youre going to have trouble!!!

Third Amigo will be disappointed in you, you had better come up with a good excuse

OK! next basic flesh white, red, yellow and brown mixed till a rough colour is made and applied to the figure, yep looks a mess    [ Guests cannot view attachments ]
But after a little work with brown for shade, white and yellow do the highlights it all starts to come together, and tiny bit of red and it will do for now, acrylics!!! I thought it was a good idea at the start    [ Guests cannot view attachments ]

Amazed by Dirk's painted figures I'm going to have a go at acrylics!
This is the figure I'm going to try and copy,  it's one of Jupiter miniatures  [ Guests cannot view attachments ]
First trim the flash from the figure then we undercoat with white acrylic, no washing or vinegar baths  and leave for a few hours to let dry.
