From WME

Dear all,
To say that 2020 has been challenging for all of us, is quite an understatement.  And even with a vaccine eminent, it is clear that the larger part of 2020 will not bring a significant relief or an end to measures such as social distancing, face masks and limitations to gatherings and large events.
Also, the possibilities of international or intercontinental travel are still limited for longer than we would like them to be.
A World Model Expo should be a fantastic celebration of our hobby and an international get-together for and with hobbyists from all over the world which certainly doesn’t match with all these measures
Therefore, and with a heavy hearts, we inform you that we are unable to host the 11th World Model Expo 2021 under such circumstances and in agreement with the World Model Soldier Federation the event will, once again, be postponed, and this time to 1-2-3 July 2022.
We are deeply sorry that we had to come to this conclusion and have to move the event once more,  but we have not taken this decision lightly.
However, it’s not all bad news as we plan to organize an SMC in October 2021 instead. More on how this works and came about can be read on the SMC website : https://www.scalemodelchallenge.com/ or the SMC Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/scalemodelchallenge
To all the vendors that have registered for the WME: please check your emails (including the dreaded spam folder) as we sent you a newsletter via Mailchimp. You have signed up for that list, so you should have received the newsletter with more relevant information. Or go to the vendor portal (using the password we provided you for registration)
All correspondence regarding the WME should go through the email address that is stated in previous WME correspondence. In order to lead matters in good order we want to keep communication channelled and at one point.  Please do not contact us via Facebook, Messenger, other email addresses, Whats App or other sources.
To all that have signed up for the workshops at the WME : you will receive an email shortly to brief you about the procedures. For any enquiries please use the contact form on the workshops page of the WME website or the email address of our workshop team. That way you will be certain that your message arrives at the right person.
To all who have booked a hotel room at the NH Koningshof, which is the hotel at the venue, not the NH Collection Eindhoven City centre(!!!)…all room reservations will be cancelled by NH automatically. We apologize that there is no other way to hold on to the reservations you made, but we have to follow NH policies.
Procedure for room reservations for the WME 2022 will be announced not before the final quarter of 2021.
Once again, we regret to postpone the event again, but the current situation leaves us no other choice.
We hope to see all of you at the 2022 WME and hopefully even earlier at the 14th SMC on October 16-17, 2021.

Il looks like a good start !!!

Not confident seemingly that situation will be resolved and vaccines will be sufficiently injected to all of us ...
...  Pity!  (we should organize it on the moon, with sufficient distanciations ...  He ! He!  Now that every country is rushing to it)

We will keep our fingers crossed Michel, but this year has been a disaster for a lot of people, not just in modelling world.
Have not see any of the BFFS guys this year and only got to one show right at the beginning but we are still here fighting our corner of the virus.
Next year will be better with lot's to look forward to,  already booked up for the World Expo in Holland and Kulmbach,  but then I was supposed to have left today for Germany to Regina's to get the WM moulds but that's cancelled .

Lets get Christmas out the way and see what happens, will post of any shows cancelled as we get to know
Buy the way "Bugle Call" down Bristol way is not on.

Let's be optimistic !!! If Roselies in Belgium drops, the next one is Lugdunum, in Lyon, South of France end of February, then Montrouge in Marc in Paris.....

Let us believe that Europeans will eventually be more mature and adult than today and be more cautious in their attitude to contain this virus.  Vaccine is not going to happen before mid next year at earliest..... Everything else is fakae news as we are used to hear by some politicians ... without any scientific nor medicinal background.

Asian areas will reach this because they are les egocentric and individualist than our western world. Perhaps we should organize shows in Thailand, Taiwan, or Japan, or Korea ???

Maybe we're being too negative Willie, get this year out the way and we will be back to shows but don't hold your breath  :(
Shipping seems to be fine at the moment but see what happens next year.

Brian Its the same on this side of the pond. :(  There is a Toy Solider show in DC in December and I don't know if that is going to happen. So what is going to happen to you all. Are you going to have to stay in place again. As for figures and books not a good year. So how does this effect you in shipping stuff. Willie

Next Years Shows

Well it has already started
Our friends at  les Feles have had to cancel their show,  how many more will have to be cancelled we'll just have to wait and see!
Kulmbach is still in doubt so keep your fingers crossed  :(

 From   Les Fêlés

This is the big heart that we have to announce the cancellation of our 27th edition of ′′ Spotlight on Macquetism ′′ in Roselies, February 6 and 7, 2021. 😢

Some will say: ′′ Another one more...", but given the upsurge in Covid-19 cases since early September and the strict health measures imposed, without any certainty of an improvement in the coming months, organize an event like this that ours, which drains several thousand people every year, from various countries in Europe and elsewhere, is not possible.

We would be forced to impose on everyone wearing the mask, barriers, maximum number of people in the exhibition halls, reduction of the number of stands and the number of exhibitors per stand (given the social distancing imposed), and many other measures that would not be in the spirit of conviviality that we used to you during our previous editions.
