Title: Fontenoy - Segom
Post by: marko on March 30, 2014, 04:23:36 PM
Another Segom set of a colorful time period engraved by Daniel Lepeltier.  After Vernet's picture of the battle of Fontenoy.  Figures are nicely engraved and cast, typical of Segom.

Segom provide full color details and information which is a nice plus.  http://www.figurines-soldats.com/Royaute.html (http://www.figurines-soldats.com/Royaute.html)

And as frequently the case Bistulfi's site has a beautiful painted example:

Hi Mark
This set is among the good ones made by SEGOM
It can be usefully completed by the Bretegnier set, available from Christian Terana

Hi Mark,
I also have this set I have often though about painting it. Mr Bistulfi's example will maybe give me the push I need. It's a beautiful set.

Hi,
Thank you for bringing this Segom set to my attention; it is fantastic.  I've now looked at their site and my will power is weakening having seen the Garde Suisse and Garde Francaise and the Fontenoy set.

A man after my own heart.  It is a colorful time period isn't it?

Another thing on my list is Segom's flag bearer figures which they sell in sets of ten.  Again Bisutlfi's site has a nice example of them painted - I have a set from 1778 I am slowly working through but, am tempted by the Louis XV period.

OK, I'm curious... are these parade or battle flags or both? Why is the staff so short? A casting consideration maybe?
