Re: Euro ( a new show ) A update from the 4
« Reply #8 on: December 19, 2016, 10:27:18 PM »

And having made the announcement, I suppose you all want to know what we four are thinking about doing....... or not doing.
Let's start off by us wanting to encourage people to come back, come back again in 2017 just like last time.
If the last time was 2016 or 2006 or even 1996, or anytime in between, it doesn't matter; we'd like to think that you might give us a hand to make this an international show that you really want to visit.
Now before you say it, we are keeping some things the same - like the venue for instance. We know that there have been reservations about it, but we do have our reasons for not moving.
Then there's the things we want to try changing - the competition for example, an Open System with fewer classes.
It doesn't sound like a lot, but just the two points above have taken time and effort to think about, to justify them to ourselves and solidify ideas into the germ of a plan.
But you know that we're "on it" now.
So rest easy, it's all in hand, and of course, as we finalise our ideas, we'll share them with you on here :-)
One last thing though - thank you from all of us to ALL of you; for the time you've taken at this busy time of year to read the announcement, to share it with people and spread the word, and to offer help. It really is appreciated.
The very best of wishes to you all,
Steve, Richard, Adrian and Thomas.

There’s been rumours y’know.
So let’s put them to rest.
Euro Militaire closed it’s doors for the last time in September 2016, much to our dismay, and there was a lot of discussion about what needed to happen.
However,
If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them...... Ah, I think the A Team ended too.......
Looks like you’re stuck with us then.
Yes, there will be a show in Folkestone in 2017. Over the weekend of the 16th and 17th of September in fact. And yes, it’ll be in the Leas Cliff Hall.
So yes, it’s the dates that you had expected, and yes, we’d like you all to be there.
What’s changed ?
• Well, the people organising it have – there’s four of them - Steve Kirtley, Richard Wharton, Thomas Hopwood and Adrian Hopwood.
• The Competition – Open style with a lot fewer classes and focusing on displays rather than individual model entries.
There’s probably other things too, but we’re just at the beginning of the process, so we still have a lot to sort out.
With all that said, we really hope that you’ll give us your support; because we believe that we can host a welcoming and inclusive show with all the best aspects of what’s gone before.
So please rebook your hotel,  join us in Folkestone and let’s make it work.
Steve, Richard, Thomas and Adrian.
