Hi
A mix I have used for very dark ethnic skin tones is

Under paint dark green
Base colour Prussian Blue and Burnt Umber to achieve a very Blue orientated Black

Highlight with Sap Green plus Titanium white

Having put these basics on wet in wet

Liven up here and there as necessary with red browns or even a basic European skin tone
made from Burnt Sienna and Titanium white

In his book, Mike Taylor described how to paint Nubian people with a dark skin, in the Ancien Egypt:

Here Is an excerpt from a guide by Mike Taylor for painting of Nubians (very dark skin):

"When the root note of the skin colour should be very dark, such as Nubians, I take a little TOB and mix it in BdP and then carry it on the entire skin on the figure, excluding the palms and heels. The highlight of the game so drenched by the light points (cheeks, shoulders, forearms,...) can be easily painted over with a dry brush, so that there seems easily through the colour. Even before this is all completely dry, I work in the places where shines through the root, a mixture of chrome orange, Indian Red and White flakes one. This must be very careful passed with the adjacent portions of the dark skin colour highlights should not be taken into compassionate society. Then let everything dry thoroughly.

The lots on which settles reflective light, you have to devote most attention and Nubians I bnutze this just a tint of Prussian blue. Underpainting: Three basic colours we can use for this purpose: green and white, or a normal European skin tone."

Add a bit more red for India, with Sienna Burned Earth and BMA than African tone.

It is keyed to Vallejo acrylic paints, but it can be compared to various other paint lines whether acrylic or oil.

A friend of mine who is painting war games figures asked me a question about what color's  to use to paint East Indians, You know that is a good question, since the sub continent of India is made up of so many different groups  :o Let me know what you come up with Willie
