Well dang... Timing is everything. My pair are done. If I'm reading this right, I wait until July to send them back to Hannibal?

I painted my two figures in March and presented them at Montrouge (Paris) end of the month.

Still some paintings to give after drying, on my return in August.  I am leaving next week Apil 10 for Turkey till early August.

If you completed your painting, please contact me before for dropping address.  I will have a frame be built for August, and add all completed by the end f July and shipped out to me in order to give them in the frame

1) If possible end of August to BFFS for posting at Folkestone
2) If missed, for posting in BFFS at Veldhoven/Eindhoven in October

The frame should contain 13 pairs of sets, I will add one set unpainted, on three rws of five painters ...

Thank you therefore to proceed to completion and shipping latest in July !

Several arrived, beautiful.  I will follow-up from my Turkish home  on this site ....

Hello to all,

I have started working on my two figures to bring them in Montrouge end of the month.  I have ungraved the heraldic drawings on the character of Jean I, Duc de Bourbon, but now lost track of the positions at the time of painting ....
My question and concern is what to be painted ..... on the two arms !!

When referring to the outstanding leaflet of Jean-Claude Colrat "Aide-mémoire héraldique", issued by the Briquet in French language,  I read again the principle of "Contournement", meaning the heraldic on the shield is painted so on the chest and  on the back if the coat of the knight, on the left side of the horse caparison, on the left arm of the knight, and of the banner see from the left side, but is INVERTED on the the right side of the caparison, arm of the knight and banner !!

Actually there seems to be is an engraving error on the right arm of Jean I.  The heraldy consists of three "fleur-de-lys" with a red diagonal "bande" across them on blue background.  The "barre" is a diagonal from upper left to bottom right, as opposed to the "barre", the opposite, It is represented on the chest of the Duke on the flat, not to hold the sword, but as a heraldic "barre".  On the right arm, the engraver shows the bottom end of the barre, but not inverted as it should be ?, when it is correcty shown on the left arm.

I will try to adjust, I am mentioning this for the other painters who still will paint Jean I of Bourbon!

I have one question also, as I will paint the Standard bearer of the Constable of France (with the three large 'fleurs-de-lys' = what are the small crosses on the breast of the knight?  To determine the colour also.  They are engraved as small "+" but could also be an "Hermine" (white background), spread with small black ("sable") mouchetures of hermine = small cross with hermine tail .....  Which means black colour ( I alrdeady painted them in dark blue) ...

Like the Italian painter, I will paint the half right chest side with white, and the other side with emerauld green, but these small crosses are still Under question .., for their shape and colour.  I feel now should be in black colour...

Any opinion?

(sorry my laptop is under repair, I can't add pictures and work from my wife's computer, perhaps fixed next week)
