I too received the figures ordered, 1st half Russian Horse Artillery I have been searching for seemingly for years. I believe it was the shortest shipping time I have ever seen from Europe!

My next orders will be for Goldberg figures as he has many of the Brandt figures, again to top up and complete those I already have.

Golberg has used the original drawings to engrave the Brandt flats a second time as these were nearly unavailable before 1989 to collectors in western Germany.

The original Brandt figures are spread to many collectors but a lot of them are in posession of Mr. Knoll. And I like the Brandt sets very much but prefer the originals which were all engraved by S. Maier.

OK I now  understand why Paypal is taboo to some people, although my experience when I did not
receive a parcel from a Belgian bookseller was that Paypal could do nothing for me, and I lost both the books and the money. Simply solved avoid Belgian sellers.


I received my first order from Wilfired yesterday, Retter figures to complete and top up sets that I had but was missing a few figures, very nice figures, crisply cast, very pleased.
My next orders will be for Goldberg figures as he has many of the Brandt figures, again to top up and complete those I already have.

That is good news, I am curious as well.  I had Go's catalog but, never took the plunge in ordering figures which would be nice to rectify.

First, Thank you to all the fine gentlemen who put me onto Herr Danglemaier, he does speak great english and accepts Paypal making a transaction very easy, I have my first package in the post and am waiting patiently.

Why NOT accept PayPal?   I know some collector mates selling on E-Bay who say :  If the buyer denies getting the stuff, PayPal takes the money back from the seller and finish!

I have ordered and received his listings and placed an order with him just waiting for the figures to turn up.


I have never understood why the smaller German editors will not accept Payapl, surely if you sue this system of payment, it is relatively cheap, simple and well known to many people, both buyers and sellers. it also imparts some statement of seriousness to the user.
My pet gripe at the moment is with the sellers on E Bay who simply state that they will not send figures to the UK. Fail to  understand why they are restricting the market.usually these are the same people that do not have use Paypal.
I tend to use Paypal for more than just paying for figures.

Dealers would sell far more if  if they were on paypal .A lot of German model auto  shops wouldnt take Paypal initially when on Ebay now nearly all do.Their items often sold for twice as much when Paypal was involved as payment was safe and easy  .It offers some protection  to the buyers .I only use paypal  full stop .Bank transfer costs a fortune  over here and doesnt make purchases secure .I take paypal only  for my little  figures ( www.trackpass.net ) and sell all over the world .

We 've the ability to make bank transfers across Europe electronically at no cost nowadays !!  Advantage of technology and European Union. I thank UK is still out of this system however.  We use this more and more as it allows to avoid Paypal overtaxing on the transactions.

I have found there are some helpful members here that are willing to assist by taking PayPal and making the bank transfer in my stead.


This is has saved me in several cases as at times I have accidentally won Ebay auctions from Germany without realizing PayPal was not an option.   (Though to Barry's point PayPal is definitely a plus for any vendor to accept.)

My experience is that bank transfers from the US to Europe is horribly expensive, unless you're transferring large amounts of cash. My bank (Chase) charges $50, whereas BofA and Wells Fargo charge slightly more. For a modest order of 50-75 Euros worth of flats, this is quite expensive to my mind. If only the editors in Europe would all take Paypal, that would be so much easier not only for the seller, but the buyer as well. Barring that, perhaps a money order could be done.

Never heard of Xoom, perhaps it's worth looking into.

You may pay Herr Dangelmaier by Bank Transfer. This can be done easily (roughly $5.00) by using any number of companies such as XOOM. Herr Dangelmaier also has the figures of Alfred Retter. The ancients, designed by Madlener and engraved by Frank (including Mohr), are among the finest flats. See the article by J Mortimer in Journal 108.

I have a feeling I went to the bank and bought some Euro notes, and sent them through the post. It worked OK.
Bank transfers are way too expensive, and I'm not sure if he has Paypal. He understands English quite well though, i'm sure he will confirm.

Go to the Review section of the open forum, about half way down the page back in May last year i posted Herr Dangelmaier's email address and a bit of info on his figures. I would post you a link but I don't know how.
