Hello Eric,
again very nice.
Where did you get the musqueteer standard bearer? As far as I know Fechner only offers the officer, the drummer and one musqueteer.

The standard bearer is a small transformation of the trooper

Well done Eric,
just as you told me I mentioned that the horse is the same.
I´m quiet sure that there once was a standard bearer to this set, I think I have seen one on a photo but can´t remember where.

Yes Christoph, there are two standard bearers shown in the book "Miniaturen" about the Raoul Gerard collection, available at Scholtz
But I am not sure they were ever engraved, as the trumpeters

Hello Eric,

yesterday evening I remembered where I saw the photo of the standard bearer. It was in the new book of the Zinnfigurenfreunde Leipzig about the 30 years war.

http://www.zinnfigurenfreunde-leipzig.de/zfl-a2.htm

When I checked it out I came to notice that someone had done the same as you and modified the trooper figure. So sadly no standard bearer.

But by the way: it is a fantastic book. Hundreds of photos of well painted figures of the 30 years war.

I would be interested in buying the book "Das Heerwesen des Dreissigjahrigen Krieges dargestellt in Zinnfiguren", that was published by the Zinnfigurenfreunde Leipzig   (it was mentioned by Christoph below).
On the website http://www.zinnfigurenfreunde-leipzig.de/zfl-a2.htm (http://www.zinnfigurenfreunde-leipzig.de/zfl-a2.htm) I could not find the way to order the book.
The Kontakt-site is not ready yet, there is no information.
I only found on the Impressum-site the address of Mr. Schmidtchen, so I tried to contact him - but I received no answer.
Can you advice me please?!
Thank you.

I've just received the fantastic book Das Heerwesen des 30-Jahrigen Krieges dargestellt in Zinnfiguren (The army of the 30 years war depicted in pewter figures) from Mr. Torsten Arndt of Zinnfigurenfreunde Leipzig.

Christoph has right: it is really a fabulous book and it is a must for those who are interested in the Thirty Years War / flat figures.

I also have to say that Mr.  Arndt is a very nice gentleman and very helpful person.

Some personalities of the time

First, from left to right : Anne d'Autriche, queen of France
Marie de Médicis, mother of Louis XIII
                                    Leonor Caligaï, wife of Concini
Concino Concini, Marie de Médicis favorite

Second : François de Bonne de Lesdiguières, Maréchal de France and last Connétable, and a trumpeter

Lovely work Eric!

I particularly impressed by your outstanding and uniform fleur de lys which I can't seem to paint in any scale to save my life.  Sadly I also am very fond of French medieval - revolution and am positively swimming in fleur de lys to paint...

Since the wonderful works of Eric made appetite I purchased the Musketeer figures and start to "work" on them.
Here is my first one.
Of course I should like to avoid any comparison between my moderate work to that of  the Maestro - anyway any critical comments are welcome.
See you at Kulmbach  ;D  !!!

Very nice.
Rantzau was a very interesting person. He first was in swedish service and then went to France where he became a marchall in 1645. He was wounded many times and as you can see he missed one eye, one leg, one ear, one arm...
