Dear all,

the helmets of Wurttemberg Infantry are a complex subject. Please take a look for more details here (though german language)

http://www.forum.napoleon-online.de/showthread.php?t=1894&highlight=w%FCrttemberg+helme

Following the pictures of Faber du Faur there was probably not much difference between the Bavarian and (some ?) Wurttemberg helmets in 1812.
Alexander,
I need to brush up on my german but that looks like a very interesting forum, seems you have looked into this issue before. You are correct, the variances in helmet/ head gear seem to be minimal and could most probably be altered to match through paint. I am actually looking at some Austrians that might do well also. The nice thing about the dilemma is there seems to be many, many choices available.
 Thank you for your help

Greetings Joerg,
I remember your fantastic Widow box Diorama, very well done! I have placed an order with Alexander Wilken though the poses are limited and I would enjoy a bit more variety. I am looking into the Scholtz figures as well.
Thank you for your information.

Just for completion:

Dr. Torsten Tenge, a Bad Oyenhausen dentist, has the Ehmke-moulds and a lot more Württemberger with Raupenhelm and normal (later) shako.
The pity thing is, that Mr Tenge has no e-mail address.

My Wurttembergers in the Borodino-Diorama are by Mr Tenge.

The other thing is, that you can find Wurttemberg uniform plates in the net,
http://suche.web.de/pic/detail?q=w%C3%BCrttemberg+infanterie&fsize=all&pageIndex=6&detail=Z2IuPynResG72QnIVr0o3z5PCqVoBGqmdzUmoMTyGCPpBpStA%2BQGHJwtsYti42kW1L7cFMk9SRCrHu82sQD5sn7SlNrbDWy67m56ORZWmHGrW7mbyQY2%2F7ftnQwPACp%2FTG217Mtr1ekQYC9ztrVXmCocg%2BvBdgPzaaaVyUI488ejSud%2BfVJmymBV2lESI7Zeh%2FC9YggpHkC8%2BinR1YaZegNvqcs%2FWYt06bLa87jv0iM4mSfa07LgJDcR84IoXHt1hrwypmr05RMhua3jvP9t99OomKXqQkSZiaopT4%2Bzkio%3D

BUT they are completely useless without an explainig text, that is only availyble in German.
http://books.google.de/books?id=fr0RAAAAYAAJ&printsec=frontcover&hl=de&source=gbs_ge_summary_r&cad=0#v=onepage&q&f=false
The reason is, that in Napoleonic times the regiment's number contyntly changed, so that the plate shows most times not the correct distinction colours for a certain year.

Alexander,
Thank you for coming to my rescue, that is what I was looking for. In my research I had thought many of the helmets looked slightly different, verified by you.
PS have you added any new sculpts to your offerings?

Dear Ray,

there are but a few "native" Wurttembergers with "Raupenhelm" existing for example this set :

http://www.zinnfiguren-wilken.de/anzeige_eigene_herstellung.php?art=wuerttemberger

Neckel did the Grenadiers with its very distinctive helmet and the infantry with shako for 1813 and light infantry. Both sets are today available from Scholtz.

Most collectors used Bavarians or Austrians of 1809 for Wurttembergers. The Bavarians (of Scheibert for example) need only a change of headdress i.e. shortening the "Raupe" a little.

Furthermore the headdress of the Wurttembergers is a difficult thing. There have been probably three different type of helmets in use !

Best regards

Alexander

Mark,
Thank you, that's helpful though limited poses makes putting together a larger group difficult plus the uniforms look a bit different than what I'm looking for. The search goes on......

Was wondering if anyone makes a suitable set of figures for this regiment, believe the Bavarian helmets are not quite right  but not sure who else might make figures that would work with the correct colors?
