Title: Newbie , identification help
Post by: Davey on August 30, 2017, 02:57:40 PM
Hi guys can anyone help me identify some flat figures I have , I have a set of Sherlock Holmes and the hound of the Baskervilles and a set called the hawking party I think . Really new to flat figures but I got a load at an auction along with some pre war Britains which is really my cup of tea but have no knowledge of flatties and it seems there are hundreds of manufacturers

It looks like a figure from Gottstein's set Henry II of France at the falcon hunting.

absulutely - and there are a lot of editors. These moulds are still existing. Owner is the Leipzig collectors club. But at the moment they donĀ“t cast this peculiar set.

I attach the old catalog pages of this set.

I believe the falcon hunting set is available via Berliner Zinnfiguren now.  I think they get their figures from the Leipzig team.

Sherlock and the Hounds may be from Attic Miniatures:

Welcome aboard.

P.S. I was not always so worldly about flat figures until I joined this wonderful site and now can amaze my friends!   ;)

I collect both Flats and pre war Britains too. They go well together!
