Dear Gerhard and Marko,
Thank you for your prompt replies.

I have looked at both websites and will ask my German neighbour, Heike, to translate the information about Eduard Scheibert.

I was surprised to discover that I have a large number of Scheibert figures in my collection: Scottish Highlanders and the 30 Years War figures. I bought them from a model shop in London in the 1970s . More surprisingly, I bought two Highlanders to complete the set from the Katzelsdorf stand at Kulmbach last year without realising they were Scheibert figures!

Thank you both once again.  And Gerhard, if you would prefer, I will ask Heike to translate my reply into German.
Best wishes,
Peter

Well, Eduard Scheibert was an austrian  Editor from 1927 to 1930 (his death)
Then his Family run the Wiener Zinnfiguren until 2010. (wellknow Wiener Zinnfiguren Scheibert/Schiller but in Germany)
In 2010 the moulds went to Zinnfigurenmuseum Katzelsdorf.
More about Scheibert (and many other Editors) you can learn at:
www.zinnfiguren-bleifiguren.com.
But, the Website is only in german. (look under "Firmengeschichten"

Best Wishes
Gerhard

It fabulous painting is it not?

I know you can get the Scheibert figures from Katzelsdorf Zinn Figuren Welt as well as some of the Napoleonics from Berliner Zinnfiguren (both of which are in the links).  I have a few of his and they are quite lovely figures.

Vassilij Safanov and the Scheibert flats

Dear Fellow Flat Friends,
On the Society's website under the Gallery images is a section marked 'Tag Cloud' where I discovered the work of Vassilij Safanov of St Petersburg and the Scheibert figures he had painted.  I was extremely impressed and charmed by Vassilij's style, especially the painting of Napoleonic lancers and Horse Grenadiers.  I haven't seen examples of his work before or Scheibert's beautiful flats so I searched on Google for more information but there was very little there apart from what I had gleaned from the Society's website.  Is there anyone who can tell me more about these two talented individuals?
Best wishes, Peter
