Another banner by the same painter
Here the coat of arms are clearly identified
Center : Flanders
Upper left : Brugge
Upper right : Ieper
lower left : Veurnes
Lower right : Kortrijk
The flag flame is with the burgundian colors; Burgundy ruled Flanders at that time

I bought these from Belgium, so I guess the painter was either Blegian or Dutch
I join some other pictures of the set

Hello Eric,

looks like a banner put together by differnt coats of arms from the today Netherland-Beldium area. The golden Lion on black ground should be Brabant.

I just watched a close up of the painting. Really great! Do you know who painted the figure?

Hi all
I recently bought this figure
It is said that it shows the banner of the "Provinces Unies" (now part of Nederland) during their upraisal against Philippe II of Spain in the 1580's
I cannot find informations about this banner
Any information will be welcome
Eric
