Hello,
Ulrich Lehnart offers some sheets with the coat of arms of many personalitis of the late 15th century. French, Burgundy, Lorain, German...most of them involved in the burgundy wars.

This really helps alot.

Nice painting, with the coat of arms of a Duke of Lorraine !

You have just to name him as there are many, and this armour is as late version when the Dukes were associated with other titles reflected also on their heraldy...
I painted Raoul of Lorraine, but he died at Crecy in 1346, he was 26.

Excellent work, especially like the way you have the metal looking like metal in contrast to the cloth texture.  Well done.

Thank you for the advices, Gentlemen!
In the meantime Mark was so kind to have sent over the old Neckel catalog and for my surprise I found there my knight.
See the first one on the below pic.
Moreover my "attacking knight of Lorraine" is also listed: he is the third one'
At least I know who was the editor!
Stay healthy-
Sandor

Look at Gianpaolo Bitsulfi galleries, middle age:  http://www.zinnfiguren-bistulfi.com/galleria/medioevo.html

or   http://www.zinnfiguren-bistulfi.com/tanti_pittori.html

for a few exemples, or on next periods …

Hi Sandor,
this figure is from Neckel catalog. It is a pair of mounted tournament knights, Burgundy 1470-s. I think that horse cover is suitable for tournament but there's no helmet decoration often seen on tournament figures and manuscripts but this can be added by sculpturing or soldering. Just a proposal.

Hi Sandor
As there is no heraldic engraving you can do what you want !
The king seems to be hale of the XV century

Friends,
I have recently found in my "sparebox" the below nice figure:

It is marked by L.Frank - I do not know anything else about it. :-[
Any advice for the colors and heraldic layout would be valuable for me - also a picture of the painted figure for "Malvorlage".
Thank you and take care of your health!!
Sandor
