the members of the forum do such a great painting horses, didn't know if there is a site specifically for this subject?
Can anyone recommend a site for painting/ shading of horses?

OK since you live in Texas go out and look at horses. If you are lucky and know someone with a horse ask them if they would put a halter on them, lead them around pick a day with bright sun light overcast early evening and morning. Get your camera and shoot around that animal. If you can get a rider see how the light falls on them booth. Since we are on this subject go to the local zoo and see how the light falls on elephants camels. Also get a book on horse colors. As I remember I had talked about a book I had on horse color in these pages Willie

They make resin horses and have pictures of hundreds of painted examples. I have their color mixing guide which is fantastic. You might also try

which caters to 3 dimensional figures - there is some great work there. Ivo Preda is someone I always learn something from as far as oils.
