Official Announcement Posted on Facebook (forwarded from a friend with access).

The official cancellation Announcement:

To our friends and patrons,

With the increasing spread of the Wuhan virus, and the measures both the federal and state governments have enacted to limit travel and physical contact, we regret that we have decided to cancel our 2020 Show & Mart.  It’s not a decision we make lightly, but recognizing that your health may be at risk, and that so many exhibitors, patrons, and vendors are avoiding undertaking traveling to such events, it is a necessary decision.

For those of you who had already made reservations at the Radisson Philadelphia-Northeast, the hotel is cancelling all room reservations without any penalties or other costs to you.

For our vendors, we’re returning your table reservations in full.

On a positive note, we have our dates for next year’s show.  The 2021 Show & Mart will be held on Friday, April 30th, and Saturday, May 1, 2021.

We look forward to seeing everyone next year, even moreso because we can’t meet this year.

With our best wishes for your health and that of your loved ones,

The members of the MFCA

END

The official announcement of the cancellation of MFCA was awaiting some paperwork being completed this Thursday along with next years dates. Tentatively, April 30 & May 1 as per my correspondence from the Exec committee.
I am sorry not to meet up with everyone. :( My office has been sidelined for at least two weeks and will not be surprised if it continues further till PPE (personal protective equipment) become available. [And I don't mean TP ;) ]

The solution is Earth needs to be closed till sometime in, hoping, the near future for all this to get under some manner of control.

For a minor positive...those outside of England can get the best prices for brushes from Jackson's since the dollar is at a low exchange rate, no VAT, and Jackson ships brushes free if you spend over 20 Pounds or as listed in USD $20.
  Stay healthy everyone.
Joe

It would be unreasonnable for us, European of the continent, to fly oversea in these times with a risk of carrying infection.  Our EU borders are closed for travelling in and out, for a minimum of 30 days perhaps more. Message is stop travelling outside your own home town, unless you are a justified serious or critical reason.  This should apply to all politicians aswell.

I don't do Facebook, but "reliable rumor" has it that the MFCA show is being cancelled. I will miss seeing you all. OTOH, more time to paint.

Please wait for the official announcement. This could be inaccurate.

Chicago? ...at this point, who knows.  :-\

At present this is looking rather dodgy for Gerry and I to attend 😩. Will have to wait and see what happens. Not cancelling unless we have to😲🙂

This situation is becoming a real mess.

🤞🏻 Fingers crossed. Although it is all getting out of control quite frankly!!   Just had a bad cold what with the weather and the Arthritis is chronic 😩. Can’t close my right hand which isn’t good as I’m right handed- painting has been on hold, but getting back to it, but only 1 hr at a time! Which is rather annoying!

On whisky, and it certainly helps, does wonders for a positive attitude🤪🥳😄
