Congratulations Chris !
I love the handling of the yellow colour!
Perhaps the left side of the face would accept some more shading to be in line with the others on the clothes.
It was also very difficult to overcome the engraving error of the left arm, unvisile between her shoulder and her elbow, but none of the painters has treated it with a painting trompe-l'oeil compensation.

It is the fifth painting picture I have and a good one!

As far as I know, he is still in business.
Not answering may be based on the fact, that he works in St.Petersburg (Russia)

Regarding automotive primers, I used the warehouse chain's own brand of Alkyd paint. Sprayed from a distance of 20 cm as recommended on the can, 2-3 layers in all coating the figure nicely without obscuring any details. Quicker than enamels and no danger of metal surface shining through.
I noticed that there is almost no engraving on the face of the monk ... This will leave you some freedom or difficultiies togive him a face !
and can't see the back side, but the litle point on the back right leg of the donkey or horse, is it his tail?

I apologize for the poor photo, the figure engraved by Reibold has a face but not as expressive as an engraving by F. M. Mohr.
Yes it's the donkey's tail.

Hello Casper
Interesting that you used automotive primer, I have thought about it but, assumed that it would be too heavy and obscure the engraving.
Be interested to hear your experience.
Kindest regards
 Bob
