michel: thank you so much, this explanation is perfect. i was thinking how it could look with different colour backrounds  :)  ...... i think that the black backround is the best to use or dark blue maybe dark grey.

You are right, Christoph.

Black background brings up the best colours, due to the contrast between no colour and colours.
White background is probably the worst becasue white is tt bright and kills the colours, which become too dark! the white therefore become too shiny to the eyes.

But other backgrounds lighter can be useful if associated as complementar to the dominant colour of the painting. The tone is softer, Grey is neutral, more 'universal', but others would also fit.

Very nice painting. I like that.
As your painting is dark (as my own) I would try to take pictures against a lighter background. Maybe something in the colour of sand, like a parade ground would work to give the figures a greater effect.

the light from the right side is just that i forgot to switch off the neon light in kitchen  :o  now i m full of the ideas how to create that by brush  :)
