Hi Brian,

As a NON member cant see the other discussion ;)

But date and location are the main points to agree on.  Once this is done then advertising the show can be done and contacting clubs and traders can also start.

As far as I am aware there are two shows at the beginning of Decmber:

1. The BMSS South West Show in Bath on the 24th November.
2. There is a new show in London on the 8th December, at the design Centre?, which is the sister show
to the recent one in London.

I know a lot of clubs have Xmas meetings in December too.

May be the show could be similar to Figure World  i.e. Saturday display/competition and Trade show and Sunday a painting day.

Also if there is a hotel local then may be we might get some of our European friends to come over.

Brian, happy to help in any way I can.

I'd definitely be interested in a show / meeting in London and early December would be a good time from my point of view. I believe there's also a Toy Soldier Show in London / Islington on the 7th December and while I'm not personally interested in attending that I wonder if there might be some overlap of interest if the two shows were reasonably close / accessible.

Well lets put it this way, if it don't work, we don't do it again!!! ;D

Plenty of funds in the kitty to pay for the hall, so YES go for it .  Salute is a success, and as long as the  advertising is well done, this could work. Plenty of Shows between now and then to get out leaflets !!!!  What hotels are nearby for ease? and what about parking?

One thing to bear in mind is the timing, because of the weather!!!!! >:(  this could put a lot of people off!  MEEEEE ;D ;D ;D ;D

Is Barnet on a main Railway line????

I think we should give Phil Redman's suggestion of a show in the London area a go. As i said a the AGM why don't we try a meeting like they have in Europe where its a social meeting as will. If we went for 2 days then we could in-could a meal and social get together.  Sunday to just catch up and get the last ideas for the next figures. As Brian has suggested. Also we could have a small competition as well. Unless we try these thing we want know if they will work. I for one would be interested i such a show.
Chris
PS come on lets get behind this suggestion.

Hi Brian,

Sounds like an excellent idea.

If it is early December it would be a good place to pick up those Xmas presents. Or January!!

Depending on when I should be able to commit to a table for my bits of resin and wooden bases.

Cheers

OK I'm going to push this again, the idea is to have the meeting in Barnet north London, a hall is being sorted and figure traders will be invited  ;) there may be a competition, demos, and some of the best painted flats you can find, food and a bar will be at the hall and we will have a table for you to have a go at painting a flat with experienced painters to show you how :D
It could be over two days :o show on the Saturday with a meal in the evening and a Sunday to just catch up and get the last ideas for the next figures ;D

So what do you think, do you want a show to promote the flat figure?
