It was a lesson on how not to pack the houses for post, the lesson has been learned    ::)

If you want to see another cardboard diorama go to the Book  Lead Soldiers and figurines printed in 1961 pages 75,  108 There is a diorama in the Dutch Military Museum Leyden ??? Willie

This must have been something exposed sideways to the competition

These pieces although not flats are magnificient !!
They are of the same déviations to flat as "miniatures" or "bas-reliefs" are, from Retuerto, Cesario, Duthilleul, Meier, .... = unique créations and pièces of art.

There has been several dioramas like this one made in the 1930's
They were made of paper cuts stuck on wood
Most of them, maybe all, were painted by Lucien Rousselot or Maurice Toussaint
They are real pieces of art

They could be Jan!   They have been  designed after a sketch by L.Rousselot and engraved by D.Lepeltier
