Glen try looking at the Dictionary of Heraldry Feudal Coasts of Arms and Pedigress  By Joseph Foster  get the one with the blue cover it has the color in it.  Also Le Costume L'Armure ET Les Armes Au Temps DE LA Chevalerie BY Liliane et Fred Funcken  :o Willie

OK, so the presence of the Coat of Arms on the standard bearers chest is a big 'maybe'...? I can see it being present to indicate a person's affiliation with the boss, but then again, maybe not. I/we don't know the the true source material of the original illustration, so I'm thinking there may be some 'artistic licence' here. I think I will add it because it's adds some color to the figure's body.

The standard bearer I believe has not necessirily to bear the coat of arms like the owner of the coat of arms; this small drawing looks perhaps more like the modern sign of a golf club on his chest, than the historical representation of past unfiform of the bearer as it was on that date ...
