Yea, went through a doubting Thomas phase, and put the Polish hussar in a draw for 3 weeks.
When I got it out, I decided it wasnt as bad as I thought, so along with the others Im back on it

Should be finished by BMMS show :o

Fairy birth has had the shadow moved again ( slightly lower) which I prefer. :o ??? ::) ::) 8) :-[ :-[ :-[

I thought the Winged Hussar was finished. It must be going rusty by now!

Actually, I have the surprise( fairy wedding) to finish then I will be giving up on fairies for a while.

Back on the Polish winged hussar ( thats Manly :P :P :P)  and doing the last Supper.( very calming)

Saladin is primed and King Richard ( 30mm) now has a red surcoat  :o

Well done mate. As already mentioned, its looks VERY impressive in the black fame. Another competition winner!
Are you sticking with the fairys at the bottom of the garden or are you thinking of painting some "mans stuff"?

Looks great! The shading and highlighting on the lower part of the cocoon, the shadow of the sling across the middle, and the shadows formed by the torn(?) edges at the top are all very effective. Skin tones great as well, but maybe a smidge more highlight in the hair?

Well after much debate on shadows, and after a shaky start on the colours, I am now happy with the final results and would like to thank every one for their excellent advise.




Now the wings have their shimmer coat, from a distance, it blends the colours togeather really well, yet up close doesn't interfere with the pattern. unfortunately it doesnt show up too well in the photo's
