Very nice Mark, they look like clean castings too. I have most of the Elizabeth at Tilbury set, not this one though.

Congratulations again.  Elizabeth at Tilbury was also on my list but, time ran out before Krog closed down their site - it looked quite fun.  I have a smattering of his line and they are all beautifully engraved.

I already own a few of the Henry VIII already so I will have several duplicates if you are interested I would be happy to send them your way?

These do look very clean, I had to do some repairs on a number of mine.

Looking forward to Wolf Hall so these will be nice to do at the same time.

Thanks, Mark. A kind offer but  I won't add to the unpainted pile just yet. I read Wolf Hall and saw it on stage in London, and it brought the period to life, i thought it was excellent. if you have the Douchkine book, you will see the Henry VIII set beautifully painted there, a good reference.
There were rumours that the Krog catalogue had been taken over and figures were going to be produced again, not sure what happened about that.

Any chance someone who has the Douchkine book can shoot me a scan of the Henry VIII page?

I have been doing some research on this set for the Journal in anticipation of the figures.  Really interesting in that all of them are based on paintings of the time - the bulk of them by Holbein.  Some interesting choice in the set of supporting characters.

Hi Mark, I will try to send you some tomorrow.

the pages are a bit glossy and if I try to photo under electric light it tends to bounce light off them all over the place >:(   I know, I've tried!! ;D ;D ;D

Scan them Mark.

If you don't have, or have access to, a scanner, you can jury rig a photo copy stand. Put the photos on the floor as flat as possible, put lights on both sides of the pics shining down at a 45-degree angle, then put a camera on a tripod with the camera pointing straight down over the pics. Set the the camera's white balance to whatever lights you're using. Use a remote shutter release or the camera's timer to trip the shutter.

I have a busy couple of days ahead, but if you haven't sorted out a good scan by Wednesday, let me know. I have the book and a scanner.
