Title: Le Retour
Post by: Brian on November 07, 2017, 05:47:18 AM

Got to do some casting this morning and got a few of Chris Seeley's  "Le Retour" figure cast as well, so if you missed it the first time here is another chance.

The painted is not one I'm proud off!!!     as was just to see how it paints before sales  ::)

Good Brian !
An improved version of your previous painting that I saw in Veldhoven
In particular the vert nice expression of the left character , well none !!

Your photograph was a bit overexposed, so here is a darker version.
I also noticed dozens of small white light spots overall on the background and on the painting itself, caused probably by many dust particles, like seen on flats taken during expos.  I corrected many of them manually on the picture, but be careful to avoid such contamination on the painting itself, or work in cleaner conditions  (perhaps also, clean-up the glass before taking a picture of a framed work).

On the painting, look at some tips to improve the painting of the eyes: the iris should touch more the upper side of the eyes, and nearly not the bottom side, I can look at some guidelines on the webb and send them to you.
Also bring some shadow in the green coat of the pants on the right to give more 3-D effect, perhaps more lights on the left side as you did for the red coats;
Give some shadows in the gloves, hands too and the white hanging pièces wich are on opposite to the light : they are all painted pure bright white, without nuance of grey-blue, destroying a bit the effects you gave on the other colours.

But nice
