These are beautifully painted and very atmospheric as well - one can easily imagine a bleak cold day in Russia.  Nicely done!

I am refrigerated when looking at these men so realistically painted with ice and snow, and also miserable for the horses so cold !!!!
Finely detailed, ice cool, sad, miserable = excellent ambiance on this black night of Russian night …………….;;
