My thanks for your informed reply.  Collecting zinnfiguren can be like finding an old message in a bottle. I bought these figures from a person in California.

Dear Tinman,

The mould was engraved between 1934 - 37 for a privat owner Naumann from erfurt. These are one of three pieces for horsed austrian grenadiers.
The ownership was switched to Venatier (VE 70, VE 71, VE 72 ) and later to Bunzel. The footplate was cleaned and recreated by Bunzel.
The  footplate is like a  footplate from kieler zinnfiguren today. The sign of Ludwig Frank no more exists.
You will find Herbu and 280 on the  footplate. These three flats now signed as Herbu  280, 281, 282.

best regards

Gentlemen:

Thank you for your replies.  Does the HERBU list have line drawings of the figures in this series? If not, here is a picture  showing two other types. I gather that there may be a standard and trumpeter to the series that I am missing.

Dear tinman,

there was an editor who´s name was Venatier existing, but they could be Biebel as well. Mr. Biebel produced a variety of flats selling most of them by the end of 1930ties.

Mr. Bunzel overtook some moulds from other editors namely Brandt.

Best regards

Dear tinman!
You will find them in HERBU´s figurlist. They are listed as "Österreichische Grenadier zu Pferd". From the period of the Seven years War.
Ruthard Bunzel is not the original editor as he has now altered the base to match his own production. Your figures have the original diamond base. (I do belive  that the original Editor marked  his figures with  VE. But I am afraid I don´t know who he was.

Can anyone identify these 30mm figures? They appear to be Austrian or Bavarian Horse Grenadiers ca. 1740-1763. They are signed by Ludwig Frank, but they have no other markings. The footplate is a diamond shape similar to the style of Franz Biebel. My best guess is that they were designed by K.A. Wilke.
