Hello Sandor,
the first two photos looking nice. The armour is very nice painted. The other two as well. But be careful with the faces, try to reduce the black to a minimum, as well as the extrem lights.

When I was a young boy and painted my first flats, years ago, an old painter told me that with a bad painted face you can destroy the whole figure. And I must say he was right. Sometimes I paint a face three or four times to give it the expression I had in my mind.

Yes, Eric, you are  right!
I also felt that the faces of the two persons would need some additional works!
Zombie: it is good and apt for their present outlooks!!!

I like the men at arms who really seems round !
I think you could do better with the noble woman and man; it looks like if you use too much white in your colors, it makes them dull, and faces look a little "zombie"

Hi Sandor
This wonderful set is in my collection but... still unpainted !
Just look on the web for "Carpaccio" a great italian painter just between the XV° and XVI° centuries
You will find a lot of informations in his paintings

Sandor the general rule of thumb is between Eric Talmant and Gianpaolo Bistulfi they have painted every flat ever engraved so those are the easy starting points.

This is from Bistulfi's delightful site:

Great purchase - the Neckel catalog is my favorite!
