I play a compilation CD of Tom Waits work with every third track being Tom Trauberts Blues (one of the worlds great songs, except when Rod Stewart ruined it) and with Acker Bilks Stranger on the Shore thrown in. It's all about atmosphere.

When I am not pushing around Airplanes or flying. I pour myself a large glass of Brandy and head to my desk. Before I go there I put 5 CD's into my CD Player and listen to Military Marches. I then change into my paint cloths and paint for about 3 hours. My eye sight seems to improve after 2 brandy's  ;) Then there is always the cell phone calls from my children and wife. Right now I am listen to Civil War Music. Willie ;D

Yes, Glen, painting is always a Question of Balance, but Every Good Boy Deserves Flats. I see our tastes are similar, but might I suggest some Blues to slow down the heart rate when painting? Early Fleetwood Mac with the incomparable guitarist Peter Green? Much as I love Beethoven, he's not for painting by, but Mozart has the right tempo for our hobby. The Marriage of Figaro has to be the most sublime music created by Man, but the Magic Flute comes a close second. For several years, off and on, I've been working on the Unger set of this opera. I'm looking forward to visiting Bregenz this summer to see the opera stage floating in the Bodensee. It's always an inspiration.

Yes, I watch, (well listen to really ) television programmes. At present I'm at the beginning of Inspector Morse, having just watched the first series of Lewis.

Luckily for me, I can't remember who done it, so I can watch these 3 to 4 times :o :o ;D ;D ;D ;D

Saves loads of money!!!!  ;D ;D ;D

Soon I shall start my full series of  The Rockford Files. ;)

Nice mix - my painting music ranges from pop to Jazz with the occasional show tune thrown in - Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables.

However, when I am in for a long session I prefer Old Radio Mysteries as these tend to engage my tiny brain better than music which is more of a background sound to me.

So... when you're head down and locked into painting a figure, what music - if any - are you playing? I play, in no particular order, The Moody Blues, Enya, Loreena McKennitt, Emmylou Harris, Chieftains, Glenn Miller, assorted classical, and a variety of classic rock, pop, and country from the 60s through the 90s.

Over to you.

(Listing the Moodies first and this being near Tuesday afternoon is a complete coincidence. Maybe...)
