I like the pinup figures as well. More colors on the palette. I wish there were more pinup figures available in flats (54mm and larger; even 30mm); the ones I've painted so far were based on known pinup art, but they were a little disappointing.  :(

Cheers,

Glen

Three more. These are for Brian. I think the biker/babe combo is an Andrea piece. The other two are completely scratch-built - the track, the figure (about 10" tall) and the bike. It took Best of Show and People's Choice.

A few more. The welder bust was painted by one of our on-again, off-again members. He's 16 now and got his driver's license, so maybe he can make it to the meetings. He uses acrylics and is scary good.

The show was well attended despite a few well known locals (Texas distance-wise) not attending for one reason or another. Fantasy and ordnance were up considerably over last year. Three individuals - all adults - entered eight flats in the show. Six of these flats were mine and two of these took silver medals. I got a lot of kudos for mine, but little critical feedback. I do think the 30mm Napoleon was the best flat in the room. There was a youth category, but it was all rounds and ordnance - no flats.

Here's a few more pics. More later.

Thanks for pointing.
You have the flat figures collector worthy represented in the Show.
Were there many exhibitors of flat tin figures?
Or they were the top dog?  ;D ;D ;D
Acquisitions and young people participate in it?
best regards
Wolfgang

Here's some pics of my stuff (with the flats you've seen before) as well as the other two flats in the show. The Napoleon piece is 30mm and beautifully painted. I still think my 'Steampunk Girl' was better than 'Bloody Kiss'. The 'Old Crusader' bust also picked up a Silver. Of all my pieces, I thought this had the best shot at a gold, but there's that judging code thing again... A couple of folks wanted to know what kit the Bristol Scout was; apparently not seeing the 'scratch-built' on the form. Unfortunately, I had to disappoint them. More later, but they'll all be rounds.

Cheers,

Glen

Well, the total numbers of entrants and entries were up considerably over last year and the year before, but the number of flats was down. There were eight entered and six of them were mine. 'Bloody Kiss' (the babe on the crypt) and the Bristol Scout C took Silver in the Fantasy Painters and Ordnance categories respectively. I thought the flat Steampunk Girl bust was the better in FP, but I apparently have not yet broken the judging code...

Some pics to follow.

Cheers,

Glen

Here we go again! Info here: http://www.lonestarfigureshow.com/

We have a club table and I'll be taking pics - all of the flats and a variety of rounds and ordnance.

Cheers,

Glen
