Title: Editor's names
Post by: Hannibal on January 25, 2021, 04:56:37 PM
Hello,

Any help to determine who are the following editors on flat bases:

BKH  or BHK
GN
HBM
4AH
SM     ? Sixtus Maier?

Thanks
Michel

There is a download on Bistulfi's site that has large number of bases.

Thanks Mark, I'm aware, but none on the list; only SM is more engraver's name as it was on the left side of the base, not at centre.

I think BHK can be Vladislav Jankovski if the letters are Russian.
GN is probably Gerald Nadebor.
HBM is Helmut Braune.

You are not right Brian. It is better not to accuse good people if you don't know the whole story. Vlad passed away and it is better not to rise this question any more.

Petronius did the research again:

4  AH could be a counting number
for the work of Anton Heidersberger, a Swiss engraver and editor.

I do know the whole story, I was helping to sort it out, but as you say it's the pass and should be left alone
