Title: matt varnishing
Post by: maturin on March 22, 2021, 06:22:52 PM
Hi everyone
I'm about to buy some high-gloss painted figurines that I hope to render matt. Can anyone tell me the best way? Do I just spray matt varnish, or do I have to prepare the gloss surface in some way? Many thanks for any help.
Mike.

Hi Mike,

A spray is best. Just spray straight over the gloss, and leave to dry for 24hrs. I also suggest an acrylic, so there is less chance on  damaging the gloss coat

Many thanks - worked like a charm.
