Title: Santesson semi-round figures
Post by: errant49 on October 08, 2020, 04:53:56 AM
Hi all
Sometomes ago I bought an old Santesson 45mm and semi-round set about the battle of Lutzen
Here are the first painted ones : Gustav Adolf and Bernard de Saxe Weimar
The figures are not so fine and thin as our usual flats but they are interesting to paint becaise of their particular charm
The set is huge and I will paint some from time to time

Nice work, Eric - you know I love your style!

The figures are not so fine and thin ...
Btw. I do not see any paricular problem with the figures either - at least on you picture they look fine!

Nice to see them painted in a collector's painting instead of the original toysoldierpainting.
They no longer exist. Santessons were actually several different families. You can read more about them here. http://www.carolinen.se/home%20eng.htm

These Santesson figures - comparing them to the today's realistic and meticulously engraved figures - have a bit fabuled effect!
Nicely done!
And yes, I second Brian, the presenting technique is also very personal!! ;D
