Unfortunately correct, 30mm is more dedicated to older painters and oïl painting more in the center and northern Europe, while acrylic is more in Spain and 1:72 figurine painters, younger.

30 mm flats are also harder to be primed in competition unless larger by their subject (elephants, standard flag bearers, ...) and dioramas are also are less popular than they were before....

Eric, 30mm doesn't seem to be a big thing here. While there are 30mm collectors and painters out there (some on these boards), but it doesn't seem to be translating to show entries. I do recall some here lamenting the lack of 30mm pieces at UK and European shows as well. The vast majority of the pieces I've seen are larger scale. Additionally, the pieces seem equally divided between historical and sci-fi/fantasy. Most of them are painted in acrylics. I attribute this to a changing demographic; younger folks more attuned to Darth Vader, Mr Spock, and Gandalf than, say, the Thirty Years War or Borodino.
